As part of the development of a potash mine in the Volgograd region, the fertilizer producer MCC EuroChem commissioned THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU GMBH with the rehabilitation of two damaged freezing boreholes at Shaft No. 2 of the Gremyachinsky mine. The work included the precise surveying of the 840-meter-deep boreholes using camera and caliper measurements, milling of constrictions with a specialized cutting head, and the installation of new freezing pipes using a hydraulic lifting system. The project was carried out under continuous cost and quality monitoring, including “lessons learned” phases to ensure the sustainable optimization of future operations.
