Herrenknecht AG, in close cooperation with THYSSEN SCHACHTBAU GMBH and Murray & Roberts Cementation, has developed a new generation of advanced, high-performance shaft boring machines. With these machines, shaft diameters of up to 9.5 m can be realized in the future. The selected, high-performance machine concept allows for nearly doubling the previously achieved sinking rates. The machine design has been made robust in response to the sometimes adverse working conditions and requirements of shaft sinking. Operation and handling of the shaft boring machine are based on standard procedures and do not require any specialized additional expertise from personnel.
